An Evening of Celebration and Giving, Hosted by President José Ramos-Horta
On October 26, 2025, Timor-Leste will officially become the 11th member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). To celebrate this historic milestone, the President of Timor-Leste will attend a commemorative banquet in Kuala Lumpur together with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Approximately 200-300 distinguished guests from various sectors of society will join the celebration.
To commemorate Timor-Leste’s formal accession to ASEAN and underscore the spirit of regional unity and collaboration.
To foster exchanges and partnerships between Timor-Leste, Malaysia, and other ASEAN member states across economic, cultural, and related sectors.
To support the Timor-Leste Foundation for Children’s Future, an initiative by President José Ramos-Horta, through proceeds from the commemorative dinner.

The Mission of the Timor-Leste Foundation for Children’s Future
Timor-Leste Foundation for Children’s Future (FCF) is dedicated to forging a more just and peaceful world by empowering children and youth. We achieve this by providing transformative education, cultivating ethical leadership, and fostering cross-cultural dialogue.
